Happenings in Wesleyville by Edna Barrowclough Jun< On Wednesday, June 12th the general meeting of Welcome U.C.W. was held at the church with the business business part of the meeting be- f inning at 11 and conducted y president, Mary Kellogg. There were about 40 present which included members and guests. Committees were appointed for fall fair display and to arrange the September meeting. Mrs. Gwen Newton offered to look after the donations of fruit bread for the summer outdoor services. Appreciation Appreciation was expressed to all who helped with the wedding wedding reception of the previous previous week. $50 was voted to be given to Elaine Kellogg to help defray expenses of a trip to the Phillipines which is part of her training for a ministerial course she is working on. Before the ladies ladies started their noon day luncheon of casseroles and dessert, they enjoyed hearing hearing a solo by Sarah Roberts, a pupil of Elizabeth Kellogg's. Kellogg's. In the bird world one of the watchers has a stranger at the feeder. Evidently a pair, smaller than a cow- bird, slate colour with ruddy breast, which cannot hé found in local bird books. Another bird is not a mystery mystery but is rarely seen. A cuckoo was making itself known in a very leafy tree recently but is very adept at keeping hidden. Wollstein Five members of Beehive Rebekah Lodge #125, Bowmanville, Bowmanville, attended the annual annual sessions of the Rebekah Rebekah Assembly of Ontario Held at the Royal York Hotel Hotel in Toronto from June 16 until June 19. Doris Wollstein Wollstein and Mary Vinkle were delegates while Maijorie Palmer, Grace Murdoch and Pauline Alldread went as visitors.
