Graduation Held at Hampton Junior Public School Rendezvous In 40th Year The committee for Ontario Ontario Sea Scouts has been operating operating for over 40 years in the Province. The main aim of the committee has been to promote Sea Scouting as an alternate Scout program. It has also been sponsored by most districts all across Ontario. Ontario. The .Annual Sea Scout rendezvous has for the past 40 yers been held in various parts of the province. This year's rendezvous, being that it is our 40th anniversary, anniversary, will be held at Darlington Darlington Provincial Park, just a few km west of Bowmanville. Bowmanville. The committee and our guest host, West Durham District Scout Council has put together a local committee committee to organize this year's rendezvous. It will be on August 2nd to August 5th. This camp is open to all Scout Troops, whether it be land or sea. We even have a few Troops from the States attend each year. This year's committee has been working very hard ■ to make this rendezvous a . 'big_success. They have a program, I feel, will be a lot of fun for the Scouts. Events like canoeing, canoeing, scuba diving, catamarans catamarans made with two canoes, canoes, canoe tug of war, crab race, rope slide, ham radio. ■ power squadron, hiking and other fun events, all of the above should make for a fun weekend. II t This class of grade six students from Hampton Junior Junior Public School is about to move on to grade seven at the senior public school. They'll be taking with them plenty of valuable information gleaned from the Values, Values, Influences and Peers (VIP) Program. The program program encourages students to learn about making important important choices in their lives and it covers topics such as peer pressure, drug awareness, and vandalism. The in assisting the students who are part of VIP classes. The VIP graduation at Hampton Junior Public School took place last Wednesday, June 19. Several families (42 people people in all) were assisted after after the loss of their homes by fire, with food, clothing, bedding, furniture, dishes and utensils. Assistance was also provided to the victims of the Starkville tornado.
