Making the presentation on Saturday Saturday was the fair's president, Dale VanCamp. Edda and Russell credit their friend, Joyce Kelly, for their involvement in the fair. It was through Joyce that the couple heard the fair needed volunteers and they have been helping out with the different exhibits ever since. The couple's daughter, Pat Cornell, added that her parents are active community workers wherever they go. Long Sault Resident Dies Tyrone News by Jacqueline Vaneyk We are sorry to report the passing of Mrs. Helen Ko- vacs, a long time resident of Long Sault. Helen was a friend to everyone, and many a' bridal shower has been held in her rec room. She will be greatly missed. Sympathy is extended to Gabe, Judy, Louise and their families. Mrs. Phoebe Skinner celebrated celebrated her birthday earlier this month. Mrs. Skinner lives in Mamwood, and although although her eyesight has failed, she is in fairly good health. Family and friends of Doris Baker gathered on Sunday afternoon at Tyrone Orange Hall to surprise her with a birthdav celebration. A tea was held in the after noon, followed by a family dinner. Doris is always ready to lend a helping hand to eveiyone, and it was lovely lovely to see her get something back. We wish her many more birthdays! Several people from the community attended Black- stock Fair on Saturday. Entries Entries included Alvina Hare and her daughters with their horses, Paul Vaneyk who won first in nail driving, driving, and Paul and John who came second in log sawing. A good crowd on Friday night watched Brian Goble win the Demolition Derby. Church services begin again on Sunday, September 1, at 11:15 a.m., when we welcome Reverend Bonnie Kelly back from holidays. Junior Choir practice will start on September 11 and Senior Choir on September 19. New members are always always welcome. Many happy returns of the day, Congratulations go to Mr. and Mrs. Rick Tureck, (nee Melanie Axford of Hampton) who were married in Hamp- Lancelot Henry Phare A resident of Strathman- or for 2 1/2 years, Lance Phare passed.away suddenly suddenly July 8, 1991, in his 95th year. Son of the late John and Georgina (Collacutt) Phare, Lance was born at Tyrone December 31, 1896 and educated educated there. After returning from service service in England in the first World War, Lance spent several several years in Western Canada, Canada, returning to Bowmanville Bowmanville around 1945 and soon after moved back to Tyrone where he was one of the oldest oldest residents until failing health forced him to take up residence at Strathmanor. Lance had many varied jobs during his lifetime, including including fruit picking in Okanagan Valley, homesteading homesteading in Peace River, working on docks and fish canneries of Vancouver, farming in Saskatchewan and home decorating in more recent years. He was an active United Church member and took a keen interest in all sports. Predeceased by brother Lome and a sister Roma (Pam). Survived by nephew Jack Phare, Maple Creek, Saskatchewan Saskatchewan and several cousins. cousins. Funeral services were held from Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home July 14,1991 at 1 p.m., Reverend Bonnie Kelly officiating. Lance's favourite favourite hymn "No Darkness There" was sung by Mr. Dean Campbell. Miss M. Wilcox presided at the organ. organ. Bella Falls A switchboard operator at Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville Bowmanville for 12 years, Bella Falls, aged 76, died in that hospital, on Saturday, August August 3, 1991. She had been ill three weeks. Daughter of the late Charles and Hilda Wilson, she was born in Newcastle and educated there and in Port Hope. On January 2, 1932, she married Arthur Falls who predeceased her in 1974. A former resident of Bowmanville, Bowmanville, she had been residing residing in St. Petersburgh, Florida and Bewdley for 16 years. Retiring 16 years ago. her interests centered around her family and friends. Left to mourn her passing passing are her sons Roy of Oakville, Oakville, Gerald of Kanata, a daughter Marlene Luxton of Bowmanville, six grandchildren, grandchildren, five great grandchildren grandchildren and dear friend Clarke Wilson. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the Morris Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville, Bowmanville, with Mr. Herman Fice of Pine Ridge Bible Chapel officiating. The organist organist was Mrs. McDonald. Pallbearers were Neil Luxton, Nicholas Falls, Greg Parker, Russ Wilson, Tom Kelly and Jack Graham. Flowerbearers were Steve Barker and Brian Tremaine. Many floral tokens were received and donations made to Memorial Hospital and other charities, in her memory. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. Herman Fallis Webb Herman Fallis Webb, 238 William St. N., Lindsay, On- Ger tario died in Toronto General General Hospital on Friday, June 28,1991 at the age of 76. He was the husband of Marion Isabel Fraser and dear father of Carole (Mrs. Bob Truax) of Lindsay and Marilyn Good predeceased. He was the grandfather of Jennifer and Julie Truax of Lindsay and Brian and Kimberley Kimberley Good of Whitby. He was the brother of Lloyd Webb of Newcastle, Ontario and John Webb and Elsie Mullen predeceased. Herman was bom in Manvers Township, the son of the late William and Myra Mae Webb. He attended attended Pontypool Public School. He lived on the family farm at R.R. #3 Pontypool until moving to Lindsay three years ago. He was employed by the Department of Highways, Pontypool for 16 years until his retirement. He was a member of Pon- typool United Church. A member of Bethany Golden Stars Club and Pontypool Keenagers Club. The funeral funeral service was held July 2, 1:30 p.m. from the Mackey Funeral Home Lindsay. Reverend Reverend Jan White conducted the funeral service with interment interment at Orono Cemetery. The Class EA document outlines the process for assessing the environmental impacts of activities undertaken by GO Transit and for ensuring that impacts are addressed and minimized, minimized, in compliance with Ontario's Environmental Assessment Act. Review agencies, representatives of interested or affected groups or agencies, and members of the public will be consulted during revision of the Class EA document. Opportunities will be provided for concerned parties to provide input throughout the review.
