On Saturday, August 24, 1991 at Newcastle Unitea Church, Reverend Donald Stiles united in marriage Corrine Jack and David Bender, both of Newcastle. On Tuesday, August 20th, a bus and boat cruise, organized by Barb Porter, of Ashbum, was enjoyed by Newcastle senior citizens. The bus provided transportation transportation to Bobcaygeon, where the passengers embarked on the Island Lass. The congregation was saddened to learn that the long life of Mr. Harold Gibson Gibson was drawing to a close. CAMP 30 RE-VISITED -- This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Prisoner of War camp in Bowmanville.
