Lots of women are in the same boat and have been participating in the weekly Breakaway program for several several years now. Take Toby Groeneveld for instance. She has been with Breakaway for four years and has formed friendships with many mothers in her area through the group. Breakaway's focus is on forming friendships with other mothers who are "at home," said Mrs. Groeneveld. Groeneveld. "It is nice to just get away from the routine, talk with women and to make some crafts," she said. The women who get to gether with Breakaway have two uninterrupted hours away from their children children who are in another home in the area. The first hour of the session session is spent talking and making a low-cost craft for home or as a gift. The second second hour is spent in "low- key" Bible discussion. "We look at what the Bible has to say about marriage, marriage, about raising children and about women in the Bible," said Mrs. Groeneveld. Groeneveld. The children also have a program set up for them, said Catherine Elliot. They listen to a short Bible story, learn a new craft and have a play-time. For anyone who is interested interested in joining the Breakaway Breakaway group, call Pam Judges at 623-2433 in Bowmanville West or Carol Mitchell at 623-8794 in Bowmanville East.
