Mounties May Open New Office Near Town Ross Stevenson, M.P. for Durham, announced that Public Public Works Canada is seeking suitable office accommodation in Oshawa or Bowmanville area for RCMP personnel who arc to be relocated from Toronto. MODEL RAILROADERS -- Tiny trains will be taking over the gymnasium's at Bowmanvillc High School Saturday, October October 19, and Sunday, October 20. The fifth annual Model Railroad Railroad show will attract about 1,000 spectators over the two days. All model railroad scales will be represented at the event which includes 12 layouts and 60 tables set aside for selling new and used model railroad equipment and supplies. The show runs from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. The exhibition is sponsored by the Soper Valley Model Railroad Club which is based at the Visual Visual Arts Centre in Bowmanvillc. An admission fee will be charged. CLOCA HOLDS HIKE AND COLOR TOUR - The Central Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority is hosting a free color color hike through the Long Sault Conservation Area on Sunday, October 20. It begins at 2:30 p.m. All participants are asked to meet by the bulletin board near the trail entrance. The tour will consist of a 4 kilometre hike including a rest break. Hikers may wish to bring a light snack for the break and appropriate footwear. SKI CLUB OPEN HOUSE - This Sunday, October 20, there will be an Open House held at the Oshawa Ski Club in Kirby. Tyrone 4H Club Has a New Name Tyrone 4-H club got together together on Sept. 23rd at Tyrone Tyrone Sunday School room. There were seven girls present. Our next meeting will be Sept. 30th. We discussed a club name at the meeting and we are now the Tyrone Mootri- trionists. We began by collecting dues, then Mrs. Pleasancc brought a variety of cheeses and everyone tried them. Mrs. Pascoe showed us how to make old fashioned chocolate chocolate pudding. Everyone helped Sara Cornish and Rebecca Archibald Archibald make baquette au fromage. fromage. We all tried it and it tasted good. Then the meeting meeting was adjourned by Misty Carr. On Sept. 30th the Tyrone Mootritrionists went to Eric Bowman's farm. We had a tour of the farm and then went back to the Tyrone Sunday School room for a meeting. Our President Misty Can- asked us to do the pledge. After that,, Mrs. Pleasance brought out a variety of milk. We all tried them and put down what we thought the kinds were. Examples were 2%, skim, 1%, evaporated evaporated and homo. Then everyone helped make creamy pasta. Mrs. Pasoce made salmon quiche at home and brought it because because we did not have enough time. It tasted good. Our next meeting will be October 7th.
