He feels the knowledge gained from this background would be seen as a strong asset in making him one effective local councillor for Ward III. Charles has been married for 20 years to Kathy. They have a daughter Robyn, who is al Clarke High School and a daughter Jennyn, who is attending attending Pines Senior Public School. Most of their married life has been spent as residents of the village of Newcastle but they also lived in Orono for three years. Charles is also a published author, Chairman of the Board of Stewards at Newcastle Newcastle United Church and Vice President of the Board of Directors Directors for Participation House of Durham Region. Seeks Hydro Comm. Post Newcastle Village resident, Bob Willshcr, confirmed his intention to seek a scat on the Northumberland and Newcastle Newcastle Board of Education in the November 12 election. In announcing announcing his candidacy, Mr. Willshcr said he was concerned concerned about a number of issues issues not the least of which is the rising cost of education. "I've always believed that the Bob Willshcr cost ot education was a good investment, but like all investments investments there is a need to manage manage and control costs to ensure maximum return on dollars spent," he said. Mr. Willshcr, who is 47 years old, served on the Northumberland Northumberland and Newcastle Board of Education from 1982 to 1988. During his six years on the Board, he served on most committees. He was selected selected as Vice Chairperson and Chairperson of the Board. Mr. Willshcr said his experience on the Board would be an asset to the taxpayers of Ward 3. "I understand understand a number of trustees have decided not to stand for election again. The loss of this experience, at this time, could be critical to the Board. I am offering my time in the hope that I can balance this loss of experience a little bit," he added. added.
