Thank you. Perhaps you may be interested interested in accept the enclosed poem ( or whatever!) as a thank-you. It was inspired partly partly by the fields crowded with pumpkins of all sizes and I did actually see a sailboat poised in someone's farmyard in the York region some years ago when I lived that way. All the best. Sincerely, Pat Barnicroft. The Farmer's Sailboat By Pat Barnicott Trim craft, motionless on rippling sea of grass Frail hulk, càrthbome yet built to carry dreams Long swept away, with other other childhoods passed. Long ago your timbers swept with grace of gull In swift and clean embrace of wood and water As sailboat moving to the lake's cool swell. Now still-life, sail-less sailboat sailboat moored in fields Pale star, alien in a galaxie of pumpkin suns Wooed by flippant dusty winds on deck. O'crhead the pennants fly - washline of the children crew, Played out young ones loathe to seek their rest But work-tired farmer is stretched in his repose Lulled by TV travel, sailing now in sleep While errant lake bird seeks the sail-less mast And ghostly hand on tiller races with the moon.
