The Kinks fought back, however, with two goals by Ken Rowe from John Mara and Carm Sargent and John Kolff from Torsti and Frank. With the score 5-3 in the third period, we rallied for three goals. Tony Jones relayed relayed a clean draw back to Flintoff at the point. Grant made no mistake as he drilled a forty footer into the near side. Dean Avery then scored with a fine shot from the right circle. Bob Sheridan finally cashed in the winner as he picked up the rebound from a George Sains- bury blast and scooped it over the prostrate goalie, Andre Gil- reaux. On Friday night, our offense offense rolled to a 16-2 win over Oshawa Stortcc. In fairness to Stortcc, they have recently been re-organized after a two- year layoff, whereas we were at the top of our form. Stortcc goals were scored by Boo Burke and Glen Elliott. Tony Jones led our attack with six goals as he showed the opposition opposition six different moves. iiSliiSs/i Last Friday, both Bud Moore (left), and Marion West were tidying their desks for the last time at the Newcastle Hydro Commission headquarters. So is Marion West, who was the facility's office supervisor supervisor and employee for 28 years. Also retiring is Lowell MacDougal, a serviceman for 29 years. Bud Moore has spent most of his career serving the public. Prior to joining the Newcastle Hydro team as manager, he worked with Oshawa Public Utilities. When Mr. Moore joined Newcastle Hydro in 1987, a significant population growth was affecting the Town. It was a challenge, Mr. Moore admits, "dealing with that growth and dealing with limited resources." Helping him cope with' difficulties difficulties as they arose was an elected Hydro Commission that he refers to as "fair and flexible." "We had an excellent relation relation with the Commission," said Mr. Moore. Dave Clark, who will be taking over the post of manager manager in December, agrees.
