Dy-Tech Toros Start '92 with "A" Victory More Reaction to Column In December 18 Statesman To whom it may concern After reading Pe article in the December 18 edition of The Canadian Statesman under the heading "Sport Thoughts" I felt compelled to respond to Brad Kelly's cheap comments. In reference to Pe BMHA 'Rafter Refs', I hope Pat Pey did receive camcorders for Christmas. These camcorders could be used to capture on film the display put on by certain certain referees. Such as Pe middle middle finger salute or jock adjustments adjustments in the direction of Pe people watching Pe game. Without Peso supporters sports would not exist at all. FurPermore, if Pe BMHA referees referees were doing such a wonderful wonderful job they would be able to disregard Pe comments coming from the 'Rafter Refs' or anyone else. A good official should have all of his attention on the game and what is happening happening on Pe ice. If Pe official official is doing his job like he should be, people shouldn't have to make comments from the stands. At any rate the officials officials should have enough professionalism professionalism to not respond to Pe comments made to them during the game. In defence of the employees at the Bowmanville Recreation Complex and Darlington Sports Centre, I would like to say that Pey are a hard working working group of people, who bend over backwards for Pe people who use Pe arenas. They do not need a Speedy Muflier King voucher to feel like a somebody. Thanks, guys, for a job well done! How dare Brad Kelly dump on Paul Jackman and oPer past presidents of Pe BMHA for taking a job and Pe responsibilities responsibilities Pat come wiP it, a job. Pat no one else wants. In condemning Pe president, he might as well be talking about all of Pe dedicated people Pat volunteer their time and efforts to the kids that play hockey in Bowmanville. Local businesses sponsor Pese teams and expect to see their teams' yyrite-ups in the paper. The people of Pe BMHA and Pe local business owners keep arenas and oPer facilities open, giving kids a place to go in order to stay off Pe streets. In closing, I would like to point out that The Canadian Statesman is a community, paper and a sports column should not be used as a forum to air personal grievances. That should be reserved for the letters letters to Pe editor column. Furthermore, Furthermore, referees as well as reporters, only receive Pe respect respect Pat Pey deserve. A little respect goes a long way wiP both children and adults. Yours Truly, Editor's Note Don Luxton Sorry you were offended. I'm sure Brad was only trying to be helpful in Pe best interest of everyone concerned.
