On Sunday afternoon a group of neighbours and friends of Linda and Mark Shaw and boys gathered and surprised them as a group in an old-fashioned. house-warming. party. They came with treats and coffee and punch and a variety variety of gifts for the new home. A social time was enjoyed with much visiting and many tours of the new house. The public is reminded of the Blackstock Figure Skating Clubs year-end "Carnival" on Sunday afternoon, March 29 at 2 p.m. at the local arena. The theme this year is a "Haunted House with a Twist." These events are always a treat to be- ' hold so take the opportunity to see our own young skaters in action. Neil and Kathy McLaughlin, McLaughlin, 'Alex, Jessica and Blake spent the winter break in Florida Florida where they enjoyed the sun. They also visited parents and grandparents Jessie and Blake Gunter. Eight teams participated in the annual Blackstock Hockey Tournament on Sunday at the arena. Winner of the A division division was the rink of Randy Stewart of Blackstock. Winner of the trophy donated by Sutton Sutton Sand and Gravel. In the B division the team of Neil and Ann Marie Williams Williams won the Strong Construction Construction Trophy. Members of the Durham Region Federation of Agriculture Agriculture will gather in Blackstock for their annual banquet on April 3 to hear Ontario Federation Federation of Agriculture vice- president Jack Wilkinson. Mr. Wilkinson was elected first vice-president of the OFA, at the OFA Annual Convention in November 1990 and again in 1991. Mr. Wilkinson has been involved involved in the OFA both at the county and provincial levels since 1979. He also serves as second vice-president of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture. He was elected to this position in February 1991. Most recently Mr. Wilkinson Wilkinson has been an integral member member of the group of Canadian farm leaders making their bid with negotiators in Brussclls over the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade deals.
