The son of Lovim and Margaret Harness, he was bom at Sixth Line, Orono, and educated at Antioch School, Orono. He was married on June 29,1946, to Jean Brown. A resident at the Clarkc-Hope boundary road south for eight years, he had previously resided for 33 years at 12 Flett St., Bowmanvillc, An employee of Goodyear Canada Inc., Bowmanvillc, for 36 years, he had retired 12 years ago. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church, the Port Hope Branch Royal Canadian Legion, the Port Hope Seniors bowling team, and the Bowmanvillc Mixed League bowling team. In June 1943, he joined the 2nd Midland Regiment and served two years. Surviving are his wife Jean, family, family, Gerald and Diane, Douglas and Janet, Wayne and Donna, six grandchildren, grandchildren, brothers Everett and Alfred, sisters Audrey Homer and Jean (Mrs. Ronald McLean). He was predeceased by a brother Mcrvyn. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at the Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanvillc, with the Reverend N.E. Schamcrhom officiating. officiating.
