The event concluded with a special presentation by a visiting American Toastmaster. He stated unequivocally that the ability to communicate is the single post important skill a human being can possess, but that these skills cannot be developed unless they are experienced. We were told that people join Toastmasters for a number of reasons reasons - initially to conquer fear and to develop communications skills, but in the process to develop leadership qualifiés, self-confidence, self-esteem, and finally, to achitive personal growth and have the power to change. Whatever your communications goals, be they short or long term, Toastmasters can help you to achieve them. We meet every Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. in the St. John's Parish Hall, comer of Queen and Temperance Sts. in Bowmanville.
