They pledged their support for the Newcastle High School Reunion. On Sunday Mrs. Ruth Gordon, Port Hope, Mr. Lena Graham and Kathleen Kimball visited Mrs. Marguerite Marguerite Cooper, Oshawa. United Church News Two beautiful azaleas graced the sanctuary of Newcastle United Church on Sunday, May 17, 1992. Lay Reader was Mrs. Carole Brunton and the choir sang O Tender Shepherd Lead Me. The Baseball Team is looking forward to their first game against the Lions on Thursday, May 28. They practiced on Tuesday and have another practice Sunday afternoon May 24. The Optimist Club of Newcastle Village is sponsoring a club for high school age young people. It's known as the Octagon Club. The new organization has a membership of 26 drawn from Bowmanvillc, St. Stephen's and Clarke high schools. There arc 500 Octagon Clubs in North America. The local group held its Charter Night on Monday, Monday, May 11, in the Newcastle Village Community Hall.
