GRAND SLAM -- Good Time Oldies 1350 CKDO and members of the Oshawa Generals will be going to bat for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Little league .teams are registering to win a chance to play an inning against the Oshawa Generals during a fund-raiser at Durham College on June 25 at 7:30 p.m. Following the challenge, members of the Generals and CKDO will play a benefit game. JUNIOR ORIOLES -- The Bowmanvillc Junior Orioles will face Belleville in an EOBA league game tomorrow night under the lights at Soper Creek Park beginning at 7:30 p.m. The following night, they'll travel to Ajax. NOTE OF THANKS -- Jim Potter wanted to pass along a thank-you on behalf of the Ken Davies Memorial soccer ; tournament committee to the parent association, St. John Ambulance, Mr. and Mrs. Davies (who scarcely missed a match over the two days), and the numerous volunteers who again made the tournament a huge success. KENDAL EAGLES -- The newly-formed EOBA senior entry from Cobourg will visit Harvey Jackson Memorial Park in Kendal to take on the Eagles on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Next Tuesday, Kendal will visit Whitby. LEAGUE EXPANDS -- Initiated two years ago by Harvey. Webster, the Masters Slo-Pitch League has expanded from three teams to eight. There are 15 players oh each roster. The league, for players from 35-55 years of age, operates on Sunday nights at Memorial Park. The league passes along a thanks to : the sponsors, Heritage House, Moore Electric, Newcastle, Burgess Plumbing and Heating, Bowmanvillc Sand and Gravel, Thistle Valley Rams, Ferris' Gators and Hooper's Trophy Centre. Hopeftilly, the league standings will be appearing in our Scoreboard column in the coming weeks. Exciting Action at Mosport by Nelson Hudes The American Canadian Tour and the ISMA Supermodifieds put on a spectacular show at Mosport International Speedway this past weekend. The American Canadian Tour Budweiser 100 race was full of surprises surprises as it saw 11 caution flags throughout the race, resulting from numerous spins and crashes. In the end, it was Junior Hanley that commanded the race from start to finish as he led from flag-to-flag and took home the win. Hanley, from Campbelleville, in a Ford Thunderbird, never faltered throughout the entire race. He held off the hard charges and great efforts of Oshawa's Randy MacDonald in a GM Pro Shop Chevrolet Lumina. MacDonald gave it his all in attempting to make a pass and grab the lead, but it was not to be. Randy had to settle for second place on his home track. They started off with two losses, both by only one run. A good effort was given by all, with special mention mention to Julia Ward, Lacee Lajeu- nesse, Melissa McCormick, Sarah Cannon and Candace McClelland. The first home run of the season went to Shannon Richard during her first at bat in the opening game. In the third game of the season, Katie Johnson put out an excellent effort, despite suffering a slight injury. injury. Fiona Street and Shari Woodcock Woodcock also deserve special mention. Erin Bones had a solid game, contributing contributing a single and a double in her first game of the year. The fourth game proved to be a great morale booster as we defeated our opponents by a score of 16-9.
