We are looking looking forward to the summer vacation. Here is a look at another exciting issue issue of Ontario Street News. On Sunday, May 24, the grade six students left Ontario Street School to go to Chicoutimi, Quebec. After twelve hours on a bus, they met up with their penpals. The students will stay at their twin's home for a week. They will practice their ■ second language, French. Later in June, the Chicoutimi students will come to Ontario for five days. They will visit our school, and see many exciting places. On a bright, sunny day in May, the grade five and six classes performed a play called 'L'arbre au ballon'. The grade six class presented the play out on the creative playground. The play _ was about a young girl whose father, ' the King, left and the only way she could talk to him was to send up a balloon. balloon. Soon after the King left, her lincle came and locked her in her room. What her uncle didn't know was that there was a secret passage to the wizard's wizard's chamber. The little princess escaped escaped and went house to house looking looking for a balloon. After a while, she found a little boy who gave her one. She went to the foot of the magic balloon" balloon" tree, and said the secret words. The tree bloomed into hundreds of balloons. Her father found a balloon, and came home. At the end of the play, her uncle ended up in the dungeon. dungeon. Everyone lived happily ever after! after! On June third, after school, we had a Volunteer Tea for the parents who helped in our school throughout the year. The Tea is held to show appreciation appreciation for all the work the parents do. June first, Ontario Street School held their Track and Field Day. The Track was held in the morning at the Bowmanville High-School. The athletes athletes ran all the races at the High School track. The Field events were held here at our school in the afternoon. They played at many community events and in a number of festivals including the non-competitive music festival at Canada's Wonderland in early June. These students also won the Optimist Variety Show competition in December 1991 held at Bowmanville High School.
