Well, about this time last year I was on my way home, so I decided that I'd better write to inform you of: my whereabouts. I have hooked up with two guys off my ball team from school for the summer and plan on staying here in Clearwater for one year. My St. Petersburg coaches, Ed and Jeff Davis (no relation), have shown no confidence in me by not offering me a scholarship for next year. I called my high school coach, Lee Byers, and he is currently investigation investigation my possibilities. .1 have on intentions of returning to St. Petersburg Junior College because because I feel I will not be given an opportunity to play. I need to go somewhere where somebody will give me a chance to prove myself. I am playing baseball and hitting over .400 while playing short and pitching a little bit. I hit two home runs recently, a solo shot 350 ft. that hit the top of a house and a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh with two out that tied the game (no extra innings). I am working with Vector Marketing, Marketing, selling Cutco Cutlery, which includes knives and cookware. I finished the school year with a 3.4 grade point average. That puts Oshawa Team Wins Lawn Bowling Trophy by Mel Angove The Oshawa team of Gord Tcrwil- lcgar and John Steffan amassed a total of 45 points to win the Fred Cole Memorial Memorial Trophy at Bowmanville Lawn Bowling Club on Saturday. Runners-up. were Bowmanville's Bob Cameron and Scotty Boyle, with a three game total of 41 points. The best score for two games was achieved by Martin Haalstra and J. LeGrand of Port Hope with 38, closely closely pursued by Port Hope's Ned Town with a 37. Orval Atkinson and Alex Hamil of Whitby won the prize for high single game. The great play by Haalstra and LeGrand LeGrand proves that lawn bowling is a game for all ages. A fine performance in this men's pairs contest by two young lads who have barely begun to shave. Further welcome highlights of the past week were Monica Wardley's return return from her trip to Ireland and the appearance of a great Bowmanville athlete and former club member, Bill Bagncll. Bill turned in a fine performance on Thursday evening, showing that his several year's layoff have not diminished diminished his skills in any way. We hope to see Bill regularly from now on. Last Monday, Bob and Betty Cameron journeyed to Toronto Granite Granite Club, returning home as runners up in the Agar Mixed Pairs tournament, winning three games with a fine 38 points. The scries between Wilmot Creek bowlers and the Lcaside Lawn Bowling Bowling Club last Monday, during which two games were played on Bowmanville's Bowmanville's lawn, were an exciting day for all concerned, and Bowmanville was highly commended on its beautiful grounds and fine playing surface. All praise is due to the dedicated efforts of the clubs volunteer greenskeeping staff. These enthusiastic and loyal members members turn out very early several times a week to groom Bowmanville's lawn and perimeter beds into one of Ontario's Ontario's finest bowling facilities. me on the president's honor list. I am also a lifetime member of Phi- Theta Kappa honor society of the two year college, and that guarantees guarantees me automatic acceptance into Phi-Beta Kappa honor society of the four year school.
