C, Evans Part of Bus Trip On October 17 Coming soon among the activities celebrating Canada's 125th Anniversary, Anniversary, is an afternoon bus trip to four local churches on Saturday, October 17th. The Peterborough Prcsbyterial of the Women's Missionary Society (W.M.S.) of the Presbyterian Church of Canada is sponsoring this trip ' as their way of honoring the 125 year legacy of our pioneer missionaries and ministers. The trip will originate in Port Hope and follow the pioneers north of Highway Highway #28. The first stop will be at the Pengelley family cemetery to visit the Joseph Scriven Monument. Scrivcn's famous hymn "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" exhibits the deep personal personal faith of many Pioneers settling in South Monaghan Twp. The next stop is Ccntrcvillc Presbyterian Presbyterian Church which is built on the site of John Deyell's log home which hosted the first services in this community, community, it marked the centre point for those travelling between Port Hope and Peterborough. Mr. Deyells ventures ventures included a mill in Millbrook., Our trip travels to two churches in Millbrook.
