The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanville, Wednesday, December 2,1992 15 Highway Isn't Narrower Highway Two may look like, it gets narrower as it funnels into the west side of Newcastle Village, but that isn't the case. "The highway is seven metres wide -- that's the normal width," said Jim Minorgan, the Chief Construction Construction Engineer at Durham Region Region Works Department. To the untrained eye, the rough road under construction between the two concrete curbs seems narrower than the original highway. But, when completed, the new road will include parking lanes and sidewalks, sidewalks, making the highway wider than before. "There will be a parking lane or paved shoulder along Highway Two going into the village," Mr. Minorgan Minorgan explained. And, speaking of paved shoulders, shoulders, the section of Highway Two between Massey Drive and Baldwin Street should be paved by next Monday, Dec. 7, Mr. Minorgan said. earth I dance P*»F ■ ^ Wil BakkerTco-ordinator of the up-coming Annual Knox Christian Christian School Bazaar and Auction, takes inventory of some of the items destined for the auction block this Saturday, December 5th.
