I cannot get angry at Mr. Mills' pathetic pathetic attempt at rebuttal to my letter (Statesmen November 18th), I do, however, have some very serious concerns. concerns. Obviously, I was overly optimistic m my hope that Mr. Mills would be receptive to my suggestion that tolerance tolerance would be more lasting through education. Instead, Mr. Mills reverts to what has obviously become party policy, and attacks me personally, (as did Shelley Martel and now Mr. Piper) Piper) inferring that I am a racist. I am quite comfortable with what I am, but even Mr. Mills must realize the level of his credibility. The great quiet middle, those people people who would rather compromise and get along and try, unobtrusively, to improve themselves, would like to be heard (1). Mr. Mills has forgotten that he is a servant of his constituents, not the party line; communication involves involves listening.
