Several people have expressed concerns about the .length of time this process is taking but we must remember remember that we must have a destination (someone must accept this radioactive waste) before we can move it. Once that has been decided we must determine determine the best and safest way to move ■ the material. Several citizens have raised concerns concerns and questions about the actual methods used and we must therefore come up with the answers to these questions. That is how the process works. If you are not satisfied with the answers answers you will have additional opportunities opportunities to state your concerns and request request further studies. We have been asked why can we not relocate the materials in Orono, Tyrone, Starkville or next to the Darlington Darlington Nuclear Plant? If you feel those sites are not suitable suitable we need to hear from you. We can only act if you participate in the process. Silence may be golden in some situations but not in this case. The residents of the Town of Newcastle Newcastle owe it to the future of their children children and grandchildren to become aware and involved in this unique environmental environmental process. It has never been done before and therefore we understand understand how difficult it may be for some people to fully grasp the significance of their participation in this environmental environmental process but the importance of your involvement is crucial.
