12 The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanvillc, Wednesday, December 23,1992 Section Two Letters from Waverley Public School Pitching In Dear Readers, Do you know how people are suffering suffering right know? Just" so they can have a Christmas? Well wc were thinking that if everybody in Newcastle, Newcastle, Oshawa and Bowmanvillc could pitch in a canned good or more, then people can have a just as happy Christmas as we have every year! That way everybody would be happy on their Christmas. Everything would be sent around the world to give the kids and adults that are poor, a Christmas Christmas present. Yours truly, Lesley Geisler and Melissa Jukes Waverly Public School Grade 6 Miss Pitcher SnowHouse Fun Last year on Christmas Eve, my brother and I were in front of my house working on a snow house we had started the night before. We had put windows in each side, except the front: We put a door in. the front. Wc even put a little hole in the top that I could just barely fit through. After we were done our snow house, wc went into the house and made a sign that .said "Santa's Workshop". There was nothing to put it on so we stuck it in 1 the snow in front of it. After that we hung Christmas balls from it. When we were done that my brother had an idea, he said .we should get some of our toys and put them on the ground. So wc did. That night my brother (although (although I didn't know it) wrote a note to my parents that said "Dear Mom and Dad, I would like you to please put my presents in our snow house." Love Stephenie. Whe everyone was asleep Allen put the note by the Christmas tree. He got to bed just in time because my parents woke up to get the presents. They read the note and took my presents out to our snow house. The next morning I woke up all excited until I found out there were no presents for me. Allen was in the corner corner laughing so I went over to ask him where they were. He told me he didn't know, until I tickled it out of him. When he told me where they were, I went out to get them. I looked in and there they were, in two plastic grocery bags. I laughed and took them in the house (but of course I just had to open one on the way.) Coming from the sky to me. All of them drifting around so vain Melting on the window pane. Look around as far as you can see in sight The whole town covered in white.. I like snowflakes, they look pretty Especially when they cover the city. So you should go outside and have some fun Before it's all melted from the sun. When it's all melted, there's no more snowflakes It melts into puddles, the size of lakes. When it's all melted, there's no more snow . It will turn into water and down the sewer it will go. It will flow down and away And that is what I have to say, Except when the snowflakes start to fall Get outside and have a ball. By: Christan Markowski Age: 11 Grade 6 School: Waverley P.S.
