However, at the moment, Dr. Robert E. Green, of Newcastle Village, Village, is only able to handle large animals, animals, since diat can be done at the animal's home. Dr. Green is seeking permission to re-zone land to allow him to treat smaller animals at a clinic in Newcastle Village. Dr. Green has applied to the Town of Newcastle to permit the establishment establishment of a veterinary clinic on a 0.9 hectare of land located on Part of Lot 31 Concession 2. The lot is located on the north side of Highway Highway Two and has an existing single family dwelling. The dwelling would cease to be a single family home once the clinic is created. "There would be no boarding of animals," Dr. Green assured General General Purpose and Administration committee committee members on Monday, Jan. 4. Only animals needing to stay overnight as part of their medical treatment would remain on the site. Moreover, the veterinary clinic will not be expanding. Dr. Green has told the Planning Department he will continue his large animal practice off-site, treat- i ing only small animals at this location. location. During the public meeting regarding regarding Dr. Green's application, no one spoke against his proposal. Dr.' Green did note that there are two veterinary clinics in Bowmanville Bowmanville and two in Port Hope -- the closest locations of area animal clinics. clinics. .W.A.
