Capsule Comments with Neale McLean, b.sc. Phm. The pectin in grapefruit pulp has been shown to lower cholesterol in humans which in turn can 'æ™ reduce artery-clogging plaque. It's not the juice that contains pectin, it's the flesh. Other high pectin fruits are oranges, pears and apples. "Yo-Yo" dieting can be bad for the skin. Gaining weight stretches the skin, then losing it can result, in wrinkles because as we age, our skin loses its elasticity. Trying medication prescribed for someone else because "it might work for you" is bad medicine. Doctors prescribe by taking into consideration the medical peculiarities of each patient. What is good for one person could be deadly for another. Don't take drugs prescribed for another. People that own pets have a lower risk of heart disease than non-pet owners. It seems that pet owners have lower cholesterol and lower anxiety levels. Going away for a winter holiday? Be sure you have enough medication to last the duration of your trip.
