The son of James and Martha Masters, he was bom in Clarke Township, and educated in Pontypool. He was a member of the Goodyear Retiree Club, the Lions Wednesday Euchre Club and the Golden Age Bowling League. He enjoyed his home, family, hockey and baseball. Surviving are his wife Grace, sons Donald and wife Nancy, Terry and wife Alice, five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Thursday at the Northcutt Elliott Funeral Funeral Home, Bowmanville, with the Reverend Frank Lockhart officiating. The organist was Mrs. Arlene Ayre.
