On Tuesday, March 16, 1993, Dick was elected by acclamation at an executive meeting in Port Hope to be Zone Chairman 10 South, Region 10 District A3 of Lions International. Accompanying Dick for this event were First Vice President Tony Clements, Second Vice President Amos Langley, Treasurer Terry Graham, Graham, Secretary George Rickard and Lion Roy Watts, all of the Newcastle Club. Dick is a Past President of the Newcastle Club and has been a member member for over thirty-five years. On Tuesday evening in the Centennial Centennial Room of the Newcastle Community Community Hall, the Horticultural Society Society President Darleen Sullivan welcomed guest speaker Don Prout and his wife, of Nestleton. Mr. Prout is a member of the Pine Ridge Society Society and the Ontario Geranium and Pelargonium Pelargonium Society. He has about 280 varieties of geraniums. His presentation presentation included cutting, planting, soil mixture, temperature, watering and fertilizing - all very informative. Harvey had not been well for some time. Sympathy also goes to the family of Mrs. Jack Purdy who lived on the eighth line. Carriagemen Chorus Performs at Newcastle United Church These members of the Oshawa Barbershop Horseless Carriagemen Chorus performed on Sunday, March 14, at a church service held in the Newcastle United Church.
