The Blueshirts overcame a lot of very strong opponents by playing a disciplined disciplined forechecking and smart passing game to go undefeated in seven of eight games. The goaltending by Matt Bourgeois Bourgeois for the Blueshirts was a stellar performance. He was backed up with equal merit by defencemen Brad Schultz, Adam Smith, Phil Hopkins, Ryan Roth and Todd Bumstead. No one can question the heart that the Blueshirts put into every game played. Hobbs Senior Public School captured top honours in the first-ever co-ed tournament held at The Pines Senior Public School recently. Hobbs won the gold medal with a narrow 2-1 win over Bowmanville Senior Public in the finals.
