T-Mac went into the playoffs boasting a 14-game undefeated streak. They won the first four games of the round robin to increase their streak to 18 games', but then they ran into two of the strongest teams in the league in Family Trust and Geranium Homes who quickly brought them down to earth by handing them two straight losses. The T-Mac boys regrouped and came back to win their last two games and earn a spot in the 'A' finals. finals. The first game was very important- to T-Mac as they had not defeated Geranium Geranium all season. All they could manage manage was a tie, so if they could win the first game, it would be a real confidence-builder confidence-builder for the boys. T-Mac managed to score the first goal of the game, which gave the boys a real lift. As he had done for most of the season, Jeff Ross was the leader md scored the first goal, with assists going to Jessie Halik and Ryan Burrows. Burrows. After Geranium had tied the game, he boys never gave up and proceeded 0 score the next two goals to go up 3- l. Adam Patterson scored the second ;oal by knocking in a rebound, with îelp coming from Ian Cuthbertson ind Rob Milford. Joey Naccarato got he third marker by hammering home 1 loose puck after Rob Milford had nade an outstanding end-to-end rush inly to be stopped by their goalie. Ge- anium managed to close the gap with inly seven seconds left, but T-Mac mng on to win the first game 3-2. The second game turned out to be even more exciting than the first. The Geranium boys came out knowing they had to win to send the series to the third game. With that on their minds, they came storming out and scored, the game's first goal. The T-Mac boys, riding the crest of their new-found confidence, came back to tie the game on a nice goal by Ian Cuthbertson. It was an unassisted marker, with Ian stealing "the puck behind the net and putting in the wrap-around. The game remained tied until midway midway through the final period when Darren Kok knocked in a loose puck after a scramble in front of the net where Jeff Ross and Jessie Halik fought vigorously to free up the puck. Now, it was nail-biting time as Geranium Geranium went all-out to get the equalizer. equalizer. With three minutes left, Geranium pulled their goalie and had numerous chances, but some excellent goaltending goaltending by Eric Arsenault and some fine defensive play by all five players on the ice helped preserve the lead and give T-Mac the win 2-1. Special mention must be given to the T-Mac goalie, Eric Arsenault, who picked the ideal time to come up with his two best games of the season. It was an outstanding performance by all members of the team. Listed are the remaining players who each had a very important role to play: Tom Tester, Tester, Mike Devcaux, Dave Lammers, Russell Gaal, Matthew Mcgcsi and Mike Gushulak. The coaches of T-Mac, Rick Kok, Sid DcGraaf and Roy Gaal would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the sponsor, T- Mac Insulation, for their support and to the BRHL for the fine job they did in running the league and the playoffs. Thanks also go to the parents who made sure the boys got out as often as possible and especially to the boys themselves for putting out a tremendous tremendous effort all season long.
