Durham residents can now help protect the environment environment and provide job training opportunities thanks to a new partnership partnership between Durham Region and Goodwill Industries. The two partners partners have opened an Attended Donation Donation Centre at the Brockington Mall in Pickering (south east comer of Brock Road and Kingston Road). "I would like to add my name to the growing number .of people who would like to strongly encourage Council to adopt a better, by-law to regulate smoking in public places," wrote Evylin Stroud of Bowmanville. Ms Stroud explains in her letter to council that she is allergic to cigarette smoke and, because of that, is unable to go to a number of public places. "I think I should have the right to enter and use public buildings. This right is denied to me when there is cigarette smoke present."
