Mac Voisin, President and Founder of M&M Shops, has announced announced Saturday, June 12 as the date for "Charity BBQ Day 1993". "Charity BBQ Day" is a chain-wide fundraising barbeque that raises money money for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation Foundation of Canada (CCFC). With a minimum donation of $1, the public receives a hamburger or hot dog and a soft drink. All proceeds go directly to the Foundation to fund research and education programs. This year's fundraising goal is $400,000. 50th Anniversary Celebrations Couple Celebrates 50th Anniversary Former Bowmanville residents, Jean and Carl Devitt, marked their ,50th Wedding Anniversary with a reception at Maple Grove United Church, on Saturday, May 1st, 1993. Members of the happy couple's family hosted the successful event, including children Patti and Wayne, Judy and Terry, Susan and Larry, all their grandchildren and sisters, Helen and Pat, who worked to make the day perfect. They also would like to express their gratitude for all the good wishes, beautiful flowers and gifts.
