Mosport Speedway Action All-Star Game Features Best Slo Pitch Players in League by Nelson Hudes With only two Saturday nights of action left on the schedule, the pressure pressure is mounting in all three of Mosport Mosport International Speedway's regular stock car divisions, including Street Stock, Late Models, and Thundercars. With the clock ticking, the drivers must find all the strategy they can muster to grab as many points as they can before the season finale. During the August 28 night of racing, racing, the fans were once again treated to two extra Thundercar heats as this division has been turning out quite a number of cars over the last few weeks. The heats were magnificent, with lots of passing, bumps and grinds, and hard charges. Royce Jones of Fraserville and Bob Kish of Oshawa were the unstoppable unstoppable pair as they each won two heats. Darren Hockney of Bowmanville and Derek Henderson of Oshawa were the other heat winners. In the feature, Royce Jones once again showed everyone his expert driving skills as he grabbed the win and the celebrated victory lap. The tournament, featuring eight teams from throughout Ontario, got underway in Port Hope on Friday night. The host team from Kendal opened the tournament with a game against Markham. The three-day tournament continues continues today (Saturday) at both Harvey Jackson Memorial Park in Kendal, and the Agricultural Town Park in Port Hope. On Sunday, die quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals will be played in Kendal. The championship game is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. Should rain postpone any of the games this weekend, they will be rescheduled rescheduled for Monday, if necessary. Two of the teams competing in this weekend's double-knockout tournament include the defending senior D champions from last year, Strathroy, and the finalists from a year ago, New Lowell.
