Jeff plays with the Kendal team. The Pearce family stayed at Forest from Friday to Sunday. Albert reports that the team played well oven if they didn't win. On Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Powell, accompanied by Mrs. K. Ormiston, Bowmanville, visited visited Tom and Elaine Baker, Solina. On Sunday afternoon, Mr. and Ms. Phil Williams and Mrs. K. Kimball Kimball visited with Mrs. Williams mother, mother, Mrs. A. Cole, Agincourt. On Wednesday afternoon Charles and Lee Plum, Toronto, visited with Kathleen Kimball. The Trillium Unit of the UCW met last Thursday afternoon at the home of Bill and Grace Rudell. Jack Gordon's pictures of his trip to Russia Russia and Ukraine were much enjoyed. On Thursday Mrs. Pauline Storks attended a Hydro Finance meeting in Toronto. Mrs. Raye Fricdlandcr entertained her sister Pauline Storks and Candy to lunch in Oshawa on Wednesday. On Sunday Raye Fricdlandcr, Pauline Storks and Candy attended Tyrone United Church. The Cragos and Floyd Powell visited visited Elizabcthville cousins on Sunday afternoon. Called at Leta and Morley McAllisters but couldn't find them home. We did visit Ken and Bertha Trcw and also enjoyed some time with Marguerite Walker. On July 22nd, brother Floyd Powell Powell had a farm accident for which he was rushed from Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville, to Toronto General. After wonderful care there, he returned returned home and is still having physiotherapy physiotherapy at Oshawa General. All during during this time, neighbours, friends and relatives have visited, sent cards and food. We certainly appreciate all the kind acts. Floyd is lucky to have two of the greatest sisters-in-law living nearby. They happen to be two of the greatest cooks and helpful in ways too numerous to mention. Thanks to all for inquiries and kindness. Hazel appreciates all the support! Mr. Harry Farrow, Bowmanville visited on Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wade. On Sunday evening Dorothy, Cla- vin and Kevin Crago hosted a com roast at their home. About 20 guests attended. Two special attendants were three year old Trevor Crago, son of Paul and Linda and Jordan Crago (son of Lance and Karen) whose birthday was Monday, September September 6, when he turned three. The boys shared a birthday cake - Trevor's Trevor's birthday was in June. On Sunday Mrs. Mabel Wade visited visited with daughter-in-law Marg Wade, Port Hope, while the gentlemen gentlemen of the family attended Port Perry Fair. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Allin, Brownsville, Brownsville, were Friday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Scott. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Morrow, Kristy and Lauren, Millbrook, were Sunday supper guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Scott. Mrs. Jean Rickard enjoyed some time last week with her family at the Elaschuk's cottage at Port Carling. Birthday greetings to Harry Wade, Walter and Charles Niklaus, Kathleen Kathleen Powell, Eva Couch, Erla Jose, and Christopher Vanstone. On the weekend, Lena Graham received received a visit from son Fred who had just returned from Geneva, Switzerland, Switzerland, where lie was representing the United Church at meetings at the World Council of Churches. Also visiting was grandson Adrian. Last week, Adrian participated with his church choir, directed by his mother, Melva Graham, in the Toronto filming filming of a sequence of a Disney pro- 1 h**************** • duction, "The Ref", starring Denis Leary. On Sunday, Jennifer, Laura, Philip Philip and Willi, returned home from a camping vacation to the Adirondack Mountains, where they stayed in and around Lake Placid. They took in the U.S. Olympic Free Style Competition and enjoyed a figure skating ice show. St. George's Anglican Church The Ten Commandments was the subject of the Reverend Robert Hartley's Hartley's sermon on September 5. Holy Communion was celebrated at eight and eleven. The flowers at the Altar were given by Dorothy Trenwith in memory of her aunt, Louise Trenwith. Trenwith. After breaking for the summer the Wednesday Morning Group resumed meeting this morning at nine. This evening the ACW are having a pot luck supper. Orono Fall Fair Ecumenical Service Service at 12:30 p.m. Adult Bible Study groups begin Wednesday, September 15 at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m. Official Board meets on Tuesday, September 14, at 8 p.m. Golden Harvest Craft and Bake Sale Saturday, October 16. Sunshine Unit of the UCW meets on Monday evening, September 13. Clair Chapman, a volunteer at the Clarke Museum and Archives, selects the winning ticket in the museum's museum's 50-50 draw on Sunday, August 29. The draw took place at the conclusion of The Great Ganaras- ka Countryside Adventure held August 28 and 29. Holding the box of tickets is Curator Mark Jackman. Catherine Staples, a folmer museum board member, was the winner of the draw. She turned her share of the prize back to the museum, which means that all proceeds (totalling $178.50) raised in the 50-50 draw will go to the Clarke Museum and Archives. The money will be used in the blacksmith project which should be completed by the end of October.
