Hundreds of volunteers will be needed across the region for a variety of fundraising activities. activities. The plaque on the stone is dedicated to the women killed in Montreal and all women and children who are victims of violence. The monument, which is a project of the FOCUS women's group, is the first such memorial in Durham Region. It is located at the Soper Soper Creek Park in Bowmanville. Reading the names of those slain in Montreal Montreal is Suzanne Edward, the mother of Anne-Marie Edward, one of the 14 who died.
