For many years now, the GRCA has subsidized recreational user activities activities at the forest. However, in light of a 28% reduction in their operating operating budget for 1993 the GRCA was forced to re-examine their forest user policy. Visitors wishing to use the" forest will now be required to purchase purchase a membership and in return receive receive open access to all the recreational recreational benefits of the forest. "Because of fiscal restraints we arc now asking for assistance from our forest users to help keep the Ganaraska Ganaraska Forest active and viable" remarked remarked Scott Berry, Communications Communications Coorindator for the GRCA. "If successful, the membership fees will help ensure that access to the forest and visitor services will continue to be provided as in the past."
