The month of September has come and gone. A lot of folks spent last month getting their kids into the routine of school. My little one started Junior Kindergarten just last week (boo hoo, yeah). The summer clothes have been sorted and put away for next year. While I was down in the basement I tried setting aside the many Hallowe'en Hallowe'en decorations we have. Hallowe'en Hallowe'en is a favourite in our house. I guess I shouldn't be worried about the 31st just yet. First, we have to get through Thanksgiving! District Commissioner Jane Shaw welcomed twelve young girls into Guiding last week. An official "Belonging "Belonging Ceremony" took place for the Sparks. The girls lit candles and repeated their promise, "I promise to share and be a friend." Each Spark received a button to wear on the uniform, uniform, a t-shirt. Refreshments were then served. A special thank-you to Beth Knowlcr for her help. Last week the Hampton Guides enjoyed a nature hike. While touring our community the girls picked up litter. It was a busy day from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Over eighty girls from every every level in Hampton and Enniskillen filled the Enniskillen Conservation Area. Ten different stations were setup setup with activities ranging from music to mature bingo. ; The Darlington District District Banner, made by Linda Hann was proudly displayed. We think that is a record for Hampton. Marie Brooks had the third highest score of 81. Next was Grace McGill and Win Brown both with 79. The night's Most Honest Player was Fred Griffin. No one won the Special. That pot is still building. The Draw winners were Leona Wright, Alice Beech, Ace Richards, Nerta Masters, Agnes Schofield and Ada Richards.
