At 1:15 a.m. the victim and his wife were driving through the intersection intersection of Mitchell and Drew Street when they saw a male beating up a young woman. The victim stopped his vehicle and approached the suspect and told him to stop. A second male, who was watching the initial assault, confronted the victim and told him to get lost and then punched and kicked the victim several times in the face and head. Three other males got out of a vehicle and also assaulted.the victim and his wife who had come to his aid. The victim and his wife were able to get back into their vehicle and escaped escaped by driving through Cowan Park. The victims suffered the following injuries: - left eye bruised and swollen with four stitches above eyebrow; - right eye discolored and swollen; - numerous bumps on forehead; and, - swelling behind right car. The victim's van also received approximately approximately $750 in damages. Description of the male who was assaulting the female: male, white, early 20's, 180 pounds, short wavy light brown hair, clean cut, wearing a blue long sleeve denim shirt, jeans, and black cowboy boots. Description of the male who first struck the victim: male, white, early 20's, 5T0", 170 pounds, medium length light brown scruffy hair, wearing wearing workboots. The other three males are described described as male, white, late teens wearing baseball hats. Suspect vehicle is described as a four-door, newer North American model, black in color with red interior, interior, similar to a Pontiac Sunbird.
