At 1:15 a.m. the victim and his wife were driving through the intersection intersection of Mitchell and Drew Street when they saw a male beating up a young woman. The victim stopped his vehicle and approached the suspect and told him to stop. A second male, who was watching the initial assault, confronted the victim and told him to get lost and then punched and kicked the victim several times in the face and head. Three other males got out of a vehicle and also assaulted.the victim and his wife who had come to his aid. The victim and his wife were able to get back into their vehicle and escaped escaped by driving through Cowan Park. The victims suffered the following injuries: - left eye bruised and swollen with four stitches above eyebrow; - right eye discolored and swollen; - numerous bumps on forehead; and, - swelling behind right car. The victim's van also received approximately approximately $750 in damages.
