A report issued by Fire Chief Michael Michael Creighton indicates the number of ambulance assist calls are up. There were 49 medical assist calls from July 1 to Sept. 30, 1993, while during last year's third quarter there were 22. In fact, in 1992 there were 80 calls to the end of September, while in 1993 there are already 86 medical assist assist calls that halve been made. Actual cost: $18,379.30. • $4,400 (budget) for the repairing of tiles and panic hardware for doors at the Brownsdale Community Hall. Actual cost: $2,895. • $15,000 (budget) for a sprinkler system at Newcastle Memorial Arena Actual cost: $2,962.56. • $3,000 (budget) for a structural adequacy test for the Orono Arena. Actual cost: $782. • $4,200 (budget) for a metal storage storage cabinet and a structural adequacy test at the Darlington Sports Arena. Actual cos:t $1,685. • $19,200 (budget) for a cabinet and sprinkler system at the Bowmanville Bowmanville Recreation Complex. Actual cost: $5,179.20. • $17,500 (budget) for a heater at the Newcastle Lions Pool. Actual cost: $12,279.97. • $7,200 (budget) for a metal cabinet cabinet and sprinkler system at the Newcastle Newcastle Fitness Centre. Actual cost: $2,838.54.
