We had dinner at 12 o'clock and our meeting afterward. afterward. Rose McMurray, president, presided. We had the business first and June Smith, Secretary Treasurer read minutes and told about our givings givings for the year. For the program the three units, Elizabethville, Garden Hill and the East group, had prepared a 15 minute part of the program. Each was quite different and we enjoyed enjoyed the meeting. On Thursday only about 22 appeared appeared to play games. Next week we will play progressive euchre with prizes and there will, be no dinner for the birthdays until January. Beaver Lumber Supports Scouts' Jamboree Fundraiser Members of the First Enniskillen Scouts built a whole herd of reindeer as a fund-raising effort this year. The Scouts are raising money so that a group of 12 from Enniskillen can attend the week-long Great Lakes Jamboree in July. They sold a total of 445 of the reindeer, which took about six weeks to build. In this photo, the Scouts are thanking Bowmanville's Beaver Lumber store for giving them a reduced reduced rate on the materials needed for the project. About Fifteen children children sang several songs. There were recitations by most of the students as well. David, Leighanne and Gregory Austin singing. Susan Peacock and Margarcttc Walker sang and acted out a comic song. Others helped with a pageant about the birth of Jesus. Santa came for the children and we had a nice lunch in the basement. Mr. and Mrs. John Peacock and children have arrived from Australia to spend the holidays with Alan and Helen Peacock. Sorry to report that Nick Long, Rochester, Mrs. Lewko's son-in-law, had had a stroke and is in a coma. Next Sunday, Garden Hill will have their concert and dinner at 5 p.m. program at 7:30 in the church. Bertha and Ken Trew held Christmas Christmas dinner on Sunday for Helen and Garry Amie, and Chris Fowler and Michael Boyko who leave for the south this coming weekend.
