I hope to give a gift To everyone I wish A present or two will do A doll or a ball I will give you I hope to give a gift To everyone I wish The Fruit of the Spirit at Christmas Emily DePrine Grade 8 Christmas is a time to spread the fruit of the spirit, Hoping it will witness to all who hear and see it. Jesus was sent from God above, What a way to show his love! Every year again we feel the great joy. When we hear the story of the blessed baby boy. "Peace on earth!" the angels sang, And 'round the whole world die message rang'. It reminds us of patience, God will come soon, A sliver of light in the midst of our gloom. The kindness of Jesus, for us he came, He suffered and died, and rose again. The shepherds experienced the goodness of Christmas, When they gazed on the Lord with a never-ending bliss. Faithfulness that it was God's only son, to save us from the temptation of the evil one. We can also sec the gentleness of each blessed Christmas Day, The thought of a helpless babe, lying in the hay, Sometimes we must have some self-control, Fôr the glory of God, we're given it whole. All year we should spread the fruit of the spirit, Hoping it will witness, to all who hear and sec it. Galations 5:22,23 But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law. On Christmas Night A young boy sat shivering in a dark, cold comer. He could hear the joy and laughter of a family not far away. It made him wonder where his family was. He started to cry for he had not seen them for over three months! Through his lonesome tears he saw a tall dark figure beckoning towards him. His voice was filled with compassion as he said," come with me." The man led the boy into a church where many children were seated in a circle around a kind, elderly man seated in the middle. He was just about to begin a story. As the boy sat down he recognized recognized many children who were also homeless. The man started and the room was suddenly hushed. "This is the season of giving" he said, "God gave each of us a wonderful wonderful gift that will last forever. Long, long ago and far, far away a young couple were knocking on an inn door. It was answered by a big bulky innkeeper who said, "Sorry folks, there's no room here." The young man pleaded with the innkeeper innkeeper for his wife was soon to have a baby. Filled with compassion the innkeeper innkeeper offered them a stable a little down the road. They gladly took it. That night a young son was bom and strange things happened. Shepherds came, because a host of angels told them where they could find God's son. Three wisemen followed a star, bearing gold, incense and myrh to give to the young boy." As the story ended the children seemed to be drawn together as if they were a family. That night they were brought to a shelter for homeless children. JBi less all the dear children in Thy tender care, And fit us for Heaven to live with Thee there. - from "Away In A Manger" To all the loving families we're so proud to call friends, our thanks and best wishes for a wonderful Christmas season. Even though he never found his true family, God had given him a new family he could have love and cherish forever. That was the best gift he had ever received! Laura Vanderhcrberg, Grade 8 Knox C. S. Christmas! A time for family and friends, people at their happiest peaks. A time for playing outside and coming in with rosy cheeks, Then sitting 'round the fire, telling stories and giving. It's when you have lots of food and laughing, a time for really living. It's about grandma, grandpa and the whole gang, awed by God's glory, glory, Sitting together listening to the wonderful Christmas story. About angels, shepherds and wise- » men who brought silver and gold. They came to visit the baby Jesus on that night of old.
