Today in the town of David a Saviour is bom, he is Christ the Lord. You will find him wrapped in swaddling cloth and lying in a manger." Suddenly the sky was filled with the heavenly hosts praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace and goodwill towards towards all men on whom his favour rests." When they had vanished, we ran to the place where the baby lay. We praised and worshipped him and left rejoicing and praising God and told all the people the wonderful news. And that is the story of my experience experience on the very first Christmas. Jason Gr.7 The First Christmas Isaiah 53: 2-3 He grew up before him like a tender tender shoot, and like a root out of dry soil. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces, he was despised and we esteemed him not. Atwcufb A Pfaume* % S&we Ipw! ÙÂc (you, tnaAe it ait ivmtAmdde. TVùtdùtÿ you, crfl a v&uy, tK&vuy &&UCK. Janet and Staff of Pampered Pooch 40 King St. E., Newcastle 987-4433 The sheep, were quiet now, and lay in groups at bunches on the widely widely swept plain. Benjamin studied the worn cover of the poetry book that he had been reading. He held it carefully carefully in his lap; it was too dark to read now. His brothers, Simon and John, sat opposite him, by the flickering flickering fire. Suddenly he heard Simon gasp. He looked up to see a huge star rising up in the east. The sky was getting brighter and brighter, and finally it was so bright that Benjamin was forced to close his eyes and turn away. Simon, the eldest, chose to follow the star, and so with twelve sheep following, following, the shepherd boys set out to Bethlehem. Just as Benjamin's legs were about to collapse, the star stopped above a stable where it hung brighter than ever. Cautiously the boys crept into the stable. Inside the stable, lit dimly by a flickering lantern, sat a man and a woman. Before them in a donkey's manger lay a baby. Benjamin crept closer and knew in his heart that He had come. The humble shepherd boys knelt beside the manger and Benjamin felt a peace that he had never felt before. A while later rich kings came in and laid great gifts before the manger. manger. They too knelt, looking adoringly adoringly at the face of the child that was to save the world. The lantern's light suddenly sputtered and died out. The baby's name was Jesus. By Hazel Gr.7 Knox C.S. The Birth of Christ Luke 2; 8-14 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the Glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you great news of joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a, Savior has been bom to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you; You will find a baby wrapped in cloths lying in a manger," Suddenly a great company of heavenly heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favour rests..." John is counting sheep, Simon is making dinner, and as for me? Well, I am just a humble shepherd boy laying laying on a few rocks. You might say our lives are boring, watching over one hundred sheep day after day. The truth is our lives are not boring. Not at all. It is our responsibility to take care of sheep and defend them. We see many people walking along the road in the valley. And when we look up, we see many stars at night. But it was only one night when I looked into the sky and saw something that I would never forget. It was the birth of Christ. It was the first Christmas... The sheep were still and quiet. Only while spots in the black horizon. horizon. I was only watching for a hungry hungry beast, who might want to cat a lamb. Suddenly Simon told me to look up into the black sky. The sky suddenly started to become lighter until it was an extremely bright light, just as bright as the sun. A beautiful white figure almost separated from the massive white hole. It was an angel. We were blinded by the beauty and brightness of it we were also terrified. "Do not be afraid, I have great news of a new king who will save us. This will be a sign: A baby wrapped in cloths laying in a manger." That was all he said, but that is not all we saw. More angels came and sang a glorious song. After that we set off, but the only town around for a great distance was Bethlehem. We just left the sheep, I didn't care about them anymore. I wanted to find this king, that was all Lcared about. We arrived an hour later. We had found what we were looking for in a manger with animals all around. There he was, only a little baby. John had his doubts about this being our Saviour. So did I, but when I saw wealthy magi from the cast. I knew for sure that this child was very special, special, just as the angel had said. The child's mother and father looked so humble. I was so glad that I could actually actually meet my savior, Hie King that would save all those who would believe believe in him. By Julie Gr.7 Knox C.S. Here's to a bright and beautiful season.
