The first game found the Sub boys up against the Whitby Toyota team. On Thursday, December 30, the Sub team hit the ice at Orono to play against Cutting Post in a BRHL league game. The Sub team skated to a 7-0 victory. Neither team could get on the board in the second period. Early in the third period, Chris passed the puck back to Mike at the point. Mike let a blast go that beat the Checkers goalie. Mike then scored again on an end-to-end rush. The Sub team scored its fourth goal when Niko got the puck to David in front of the net. David made no mistake as he one-timed the puck into the net. Late in the game, the Checkers team went with their big guns, so Sub did the same. The Sub team put a lot of pressure pressure on the Checkers team as Mike grabbed an open pass and deposited the puck into the Checkers net. This made the final score Sub 5, Checkers 1.
