Daughter of the late William F. and Beatrice McMullen (Pirie), she was bom in Peterborough County and received her primary and formal education in Campbcllford. A telephone telephone operator with the Bell Telephone Telephone Company, she retired in 1946 after serving nineteen years in Campbcllford Campbcllford and in a relief capacity at Parry Sound and Oshawa. On March 11, 1944 she married Malcolm MacKenzie and, on his return return from overseas in World War II, resided in several cities and small towns prior to moving to Bowman- villc from Markham. A faithful member of the Presbyterian Presbyterian church she attended St. Andrew's, Andrew's, Bowmanville, regularly, and served on different church groups, laterally the evening affiliated group. A former member of the I.O.D.E. and Durham Chapter No. 181, Order of The Eastern Star, she withdrew from both due to poor health. She enjoyed assisting on a regular basis in th'c 'New To You' Shoppe of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband Malcolm, former manager of the CIBC branch here, one daughter, Maryanne Armstrong and her husband husband Michael, three granddaughters, Calgary, Alberta and a nephew, Toronto. The many lovely floral tributes, contributions to various charities including including Memorial donations to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Bowmanville, Bowmanville, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, were gratefully gratefully received, and acknowledged by the family. Elton Oscar Stephenson Bom in Pickering and educated in Oshawa, Elton Oscar Stephenson aged 65, died in Bowmanville, Monday, Monday, January 17, 1994. He had been ill two years. The son of the late Oscar and Emily Emily Stephenson, he was married February February 14, 1950, to Audrey Tomlinson. Tomlinson. A resident of Hillsport, Northern Ontario for eight and a half years, he had previously resided on Solina Road, North, for 32 years. Employed as an electrician for 32 years by General Motors, Oshawa he retired 11 years ago. He was a member member of St. Paul's United Church, Bowmanville. An avid outdoorsman and sportsman sportsman he managed hunting camps for bear and moose in Hillsport. He was a member of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters. Betty Ellen Hockins A resident of Port Perry for 38 years, Betty Ellen Hockins, aged 68, died in Port Perry on Monday, December December 20, 1993. She had been ill 10 months. The daughter of Thomas and Shirley Shirley Enwright (late) she was bom in Strathroy, and educated there and in Newcastle. She was married November November 10, 1945, to Harold O. Hockins, and had resided in Bowmanville and Newcastle. Surviving are her husband Harold, her family Shirley and husband Peter De Haas, Seagravc, Tom and wife Lyn, Elmvale, six grandchildren and a great grandson, sisters Marilyn Walton, Doreen Embley, and Connie Little. She was predeceased by a brother Buck Enwright. Funeral services were held on Thursday at the Morris Funeral Chapel, Chapel, Bowmanville, with Reverend Donald Stiles officiating. Pallbearers were Terry Shand, Bill Sulston, Murray Birkett, Merlin Sug- gitt, Ed Duits and Jean-Marc Tessier. Interment Bond Head Cemetery, Newcastle. Basking?)
