Orono Family Auto Meets Woodville in OMHA Play In OMHA Atom rep play, Oro- no's Family Auto commenced their 1993-94 playoff drive against Woodville this past weekend. Game one of the best-of-five series series was played on Orono ice on Friday, Friday, February 4. Family Auto won the game by a 2-0 margin. Sharing in the shutout was the ever-consistent goaltending tandem of Scott Poole and Ryan Leddy. Orono grabbed an early lead less than two minutes into the contest when winger Brandon Caruana was sent in alone by Centre Tyler Robinson Robinson at 8:51. Starting the play was winger Jeff Thompson. Family Auto got the insurance marker at 6:57 of tiie final period when winger Matt McGlynn set up an uncovered Ryan Tresise in front of the net. Final shots on goal favoured Orono Orono 17-15. Game two was played in Woodville Woodville on Saturday, February 5, with Family Auto squeaking out a 3-2 victory. f ' Orono skated well in the first two periods, outscoring Woodville 3-0, while outshooting them 13-1! In less then a four-minute span in the second period, Orono got two goals from captain Bob Witheridge and winger Brandon Caruana. Picking Picking up assists on the scoring plays were Tyler Robinson, Pat O'Halloran, Jeff Thompson, and Matt McGlynn. .The third goal, a short-handed effort effort by Witheridge, was also the eventual winning goal as Woodville came on to score two of their own in the third frame.
