Wednesday night, the Eagles put an end to the series by humiliating Bobcaygeon 17-0. Because Bowmanville finished first place in the regular season, they have accepted a bye in the semi-finals, and will seek their second straight league title in the finals, which should get underway by the end of the month, or the first week of March at the latest. U 'AAA' MIDGETS FACE OSHAWA -- The Central Ontario 'AAA' Wolves Midget hockey team has advance to the Eastern Division finals, and faced Oshawa in the opening game the series last night Game two will move to Children's Arena in Oshawa tonight (Saturday) for an 8:00 p.m. start. This pitted the Toros against the Fenelon Falls Flyers who looked even larger in their Philadelphia Flyer Flyer uniforms. Down 3-2 with seconds left, the Toros pulled their goalie for an extra attacker, and with 32 seconds seconds left in regulation, they tied the game and headed for overtime. Goals for the IGA team were scored by Kevin Marchant with two, and a single by Jack Laverty. Both goals were assisted by Ron Léger. A few of the Darlington Rec Club's team members returned to the ice late Wednesday evening to play against the Thornton Dundee team from Oshawa. This game turned out to be a very rough and close game, with very few penalties. Goals for the Rec Club were scored by Rob Watson (3), with Darrin Mills, Peter Gadd, and Steve Hamilton each scoring singles. Assists Assists on these goals were by Mike deBlois (2), Peter Gadd (1), and Clayton Guest (1).
