Lillian Bottrell Bom in Sussex, England, Lillian Bottrell, aged 95, died in Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville, on Thursday, January 27, 1994, following a three day illness. The former Lillian Watson was married in 1916, to Raymond Bot- trcll. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, and was a member of the United Church. A resident of Newcastle 50 years, she had previously resided in Ponty- pool and Bowmanville. She came over by boat from Sussex , England when she was nine years old. Surviving are daughters Helen Brown, Elsie Sandercock and Marie Forget, and a son Earl Bottrell. Funeral services were held at the Moms Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville on Saturday, with the Reverend Donald Donald Stiles officiating. Spring interment Orono Cemetery. Cemetery. Goldie I. Darrach Bom and educated in Toronto, Goldie I. Danrach, aged 80, died in Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville, Friday, February 4,1994, following a brief illness. Married April 18, 1936, to John Colin Darrach, she was the daughter of Oliver and Pearl Edwards. A nursing home cook and homemaker, homemaker, she had been employed by Southaven Nursing Home, Newcastle, Newcastle, retiring 18 years ago. Previously residing in Newcastle she had been a resident of Fores tree Place, Liberty Street, N., Bowmanville. Surviving are Shirley Robbins, Nancy Thompson, Patricia Little, Bob, Jim, George and Joseph Darrach, Darrach, Peggy Rogers, sisters Anne Fyke and June Hoar. Reverend Nancy Knox officiated at the funeral service held Monday at the Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville. Bowmanville. The organist was Ross Metcalf. Bom and educated in Harlowe, the daughter of William and Lillie Thompson, she was manried July 1, 1936, to Frank Thompson. Louise Tink . passed away peacefully in Memorial Hospital Hospital on Tuesday, February 1, 1994 in her 89th year. She had been in failing health a few years. Bom in Solina, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Maria Vice (nee Scott) and was the youngest youngest and the surviving member of a family of eight. She was educated in area schools. Police Ask for Public's Help Crime Stoppers and the Durham Regional Robbery Squad arc asking for the Public's help in solving an Armed Robbery which occurred in Oshawa on Monday, February 7th. At 11:25 p.m. a male entered the Becker's Store at 600 Grandview Street South. The suspect had a knife and ordered the victim to go to the cash register. The suspect demanded the victim place all the money in a white plastic bag the suspect was holding. The victim placed the money money in the bag and then the suspect left the store jogging eastbound and it is unknown if a vehicle was involved. The suspect is described as male, white, mid 20's, approx. 6'0" and 200 lbs. with a heavy build. He was wearing a hip length two-tone jacket with a draw string at the waist and two large pockets on the bottom front. He was also wearing light blue jogging pants, a knitted hat pulled down to his ears, a faded pink or beige scarf wrapped around his face, white dirty running shoes and black leather gloves. Heritage Programs At Oshawa Museum The Oshawa Sydenham Museum will be hosting heritage programs during the March Break, March 11 and March 14-18, 1994. This is an excellent opportunity to introduce children to the heritage of Oshawa and the early settlers. The program entitled "Stories for the Heart" will entertain children from the ages of 5 through 12 with stories, crafts and songs relating to both native and pio- ' beer themes. Myrtle was married October 5, 1929 to Hilton Tink who predeceased her in 1967. They farmed in the Ebe-r nezer area until Hilton's death. She built a home on the farm property and resided there until she took up residence in StrathManor, Bowmanville, Bowmanville, nine years ago. A devoted mother to Loraine and Harry Knox, Walter and Marjorie Tink, Muriel and Keith Shackclton; Kenneth and Margaret Tink, she also treasured eleven grandchildren. and 19 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Evelyn Dcwell, Ruth Tink and Jessie Tink. She was predeceased by grandchildren grandchildren Barry, Mark and Lori Shack- el ton. An active member of Ebenezer United Church, she worked on many committees and was instrumental in' organizing many events. She liked to travel and was talented in baking, cooking, painting, sewing, crocheting, crocheting, etc. Each newborn great grandchild grandchild came home from the hospital in one of great grandma's shawls. Myrtle rested at the Northcutt Elliott Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville, with the funeral service held at Ebenezer Ebenezer United Church on Friday. Officiating Officiating was Reverend Douglas Warren Warren assisted by the Reverend Dr. Peter Tink and the Reverend David Jones. The organist was Mrs. Eileen Down with a duet by Margaret and Ken Tink. Her son Ken phrased a tribute to her memory. Pallbearers were grandsons Dean, Boyd, Darrell and Jeffrey Knox, Brian, Kevin and Glenn Tink and Christopher Mann. Many donations were received for Wellesley Hospital Cystic Fibrosis Unit, Ebenezer Church and the Heart Fund. Interment Ebenezer Cemetery. DENIS C.
