Mrs. Dale Hunt, Pontypool, was Thursday lunch guest of her parents Stan and Kay Powell. Last Wednesday Mrs. Betty Stapleton, Stapleton, Newtonville, invited about twenty ladies to Cullen Gardens, Whitby to a birthday celebration in honour of her mother, Mary Skcld- ing. Betty's grandmother, Elizabeth Skelding was one of the guests. On Sunday night, dinner guests of Elizabeth Skelding were Bill and Mary Skelding, Newtonville, Jack and Nan Skelding and Karen, Port Perry. Another birthday cake for Mary! Last year we attended Newton- villc United Church auction and enjoyed enjoyed the entertainment. On Saturday, Saturday, March 5th at 7 o'clock the auction (Time arid Talent) will be held this year. There is-no admission charge. Some of the interesting items to bid on include horseback riding, purple martin house, crib quilt, afghans, afghans, mystery tours, and variety of dinners. On Wednesday Mr.- Allan Holda-' way, Port Britain, visited his cousin Mr. Harry Wade. Friday overnight guests of Harry Wade were Don and Dorothy Murdoch Murdoch of Manotick. Mr. Harry Farrow, Bowmanville was a Sunday visitor with Harry Wade. Last Monday, supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robin Alldred were son Bruce, Port Hope and his daughter Erin, Doug and Barry Rowe. On Saturday night, Mr. and Mrs. Brcnton Rickard attended Marmora Lions Fun and Talent Night, On Sunday Mrs. Pauline Storks attended attended the 125th Anniversary Service at Tyrone Church. St. George's Church On February 20, The First Sunday in Lent, the Reverend Robert Hartley celebrated Holy Communion at eight, At Morning Prayer at eleven he was assisted by Lay Reader, Cathie Moulton. In charge of the programme were Marg Burley, Marion Allin and Wilma Scott. The theme for the devotional devotional was Love. Mrs. Hazel Crago gave a presentation of her hobby- Buttons and Erla Jose capably taught how to tat-hcr hobby. It looks so simple simple when Erla does it, but just try it! Wilma Scott thanked Hazel and Erla. Sunshine sisters exchanged valentines, valentines, Delicious valentine dessert and tea were enjoyed. On Sunday, February 20th the flowers in the church were placed to the glory of God and in loving memory memory of Richard Middleton, by his wife Joan Middleton and family. X Family Re-united After Six Decades There may still be some long-time Newcastle area citizens who will recall the Wright family back in the 30's. When Mrs. Wright died in 1933, her two sons, Harold and Ron were separated. They were nine and seven at the time and it was 60 years later before they were reunited. Harold lives in Edmonton and Ron in San Diego, California. California. They held their reunion last year in San Diego. Here they are with their wives, Pat and Debbie. That's Harold, at right, and Ron, left. Harold attended Brown's School and later, Newcastle High School, according to information received from his wife Debbie.
