Orono Horse Farm Recognized For Outstanding Achievements The Independent, Canadian Statesman Weekender, Bowmanville, Saturday, February 26,1994 7 The Sampsons, owners and operators operators of the Trillium Morgan Horse Farm in Orono, recently attended the 1993 Ontario Morgan Horse Club Awards Banquet in Toronto. The farm brought home a total of 17 awards that evening.. During the ceremonies, it was announced announced that their mare, Trillium Pepper Shaker, currently on lease from the flying Diamond Ranch in Huntsville, was awarded the 1993 Canadian Morgan Horse Club's National National Reserve Championship. This award will be presented in British Columbia next month at the Canadian Canadian Morgan Horse Club's Annual Convention. The farm is also very involved in breed promotion activities and, for the second consecutive year, it won the top two placings with the horses, Trillium Reflection and Trillium Samson, respectively. The farm's other placings that evening included the divisions for in hand, English pleasure and pleasure driving. Dennis Pizzeria Ties Series With Panthers Great playoff hockey is being played by two Minor Novice teams as the Panthers and Toros battle each other to advance in the OMHA playoffs. Home ice advantage went to Pickering, and playing the first game at Don Beers arena offered a comfort zone for Pickering, as they won the first game 3-1. The next game being played a night later was contested at the Darlington Darlington Sports Centre and the Toros were up for this game. It was played like a must-win as the Toros wanted to win at home and bring this best- of-five series to a best-of-three. The Toros played one of their best games all year, winning by a 5-1 score. This was the first win against the Panthers in divisional play all season.
