But every time you do it, people marvel. 12 large eggs, hard-boiled, peeled and carefully sliced in half K cup mayonnaise 'A cup sour cream 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard 1 tablespoon prepared white horseradish, or lo taste 8 ounces bacon, cooked crisp, drained and crumbled fine ' 4 scallions, chopped fine Plop the egg yolks into a small bowl and mash them with the back of a spoon until smooth. Then stir in the mayonnaise, sour cream, mustard, and horseradish. When the yolk mixture is smooth, make it bumpy again by stirring stirring in the bacon and the scallions. Taste for seasoning. Using two spoons, stuff egg whites with the yolk mixture. Don't think you can use a pastry bag fitted with a star tip for this recipe, 1 tried it once, and the scallions and bacon kept getting stuck in the points of the star. It's just as well you can't make fancy piped eggs, though, because now you can cover them with plastic wrap more easily. Keep them covered and chilled until you're ready lo serve them. MOM-STYLE MEAT LOAF Serves6...... Whenever I make meal loaf, I remember the "1 Lave Lucy" episode where Lucy loses her engagement ring making meat loaf Ricky says, "Don't cry, hooey, I'll get you a new ring with big diamonds all the way around," and Lucy sobs hack, "No! I want my old ring with little diamonds halfway around!" 1 pound ground sirloin A pound hot Italian sausage, removed front casings 1 8-ounce can whole tomatoes, drained and chopped 'A pound mushrooms, sliced and sauteed in 1-2 tablespoons butler until they give up their liquid 'A cup minced onion 'A cup Worcestershire sauce 'A cup Dijon mustard 2 large eggs, well bealen 2 tablespoons dried oregano 1 teaspoon fresh-ground black pepper 'A teaspoon salt Preheat oven lo 350 degrees.
