This tournament tournament was divided into four divisions with the team advancing based on a point system. The Sub boys faced off against Co- bourg Police for their first game. Both teams tried hard, but could not score in the first period. The Sub boys lit up the scoreboard early in the second period period when Lucas Leskiw let a blast go from the point that Chris Peldiak tipped into the net. The team tallied again when Lucas scored a goal, with Matt Meadows and Chris picking up the assist. Lucas then notched two more goals to get the natural hat-trick and make the final score Sub 4, Co- bourg 0. David McLinton and Andrew Pitt recorded the shutout. The second game found Mr. Sub up against Oshawa St. Andrews. The Mr. Sub team didn't know what to expect, expect, as this was their - first game against an OCHL team. Niko and Matt had two goals apiece in a 7-1 victory. Lucas, Chris, and James Beck had the others. The Sub boys went out of their division with 9.5 of a possible 10 points. The third game found the Mr. Sub team up against their host, Grafton. The Sub boys scored their first goal while on a power play when Mike McCrary scored on a goalmouth scramble with Chris assisting. The Sub boys then notched another power play goal when Niko scored on a setup setup from Mike and Chris. The Sub team then notched their third goal when Mike passed the puck to Niko who found an opening beside the goalie to deposit the puck into the net. Grafton scored late in the third period to make the final Mr. Sub 3, Grafton 1. This sent the Mr. Sub team into the 'A' Championship. The 'A' Championship game found Sub up against the BRHL Hooper's team. The Hooper's team proceeded to the 'A' Championship with great goaltending, so Sub knew this would be a hard game. The Sub team lit up the scoreboard first as hard work paid off when Chris scored on a setup from Niko and Brent. The Sub team scored again when Mike let a blast go from the point that bounced off the boards out to David, who shovelled it into the net. The Hooper's team then scored two quick goals - to tie the score up. The Sub boys took the lead again when Chris passed to Derek Welch. Derek got the puck to Mike who put the puck past a screened goalie. The Sub boys then notched another power play goal when Chris scored on a setup setup from Mike and Ted. The final Sub goal was scored when Ted grabbed a clearing pass and let a blast go that found the top comer of the Hooper's net. This made the final score Sub 5, Hooper's 2. The Sub team has two more league games before they go into the playoffs. The team hopes that the flu bug clears up, as they lost both James and Shawn for parts of the tournament. tournament. The loud cheers were music to the ears of the baby bulls in our arena as fans from Bowmanville, Solina, Hampton and surrounding hamlets came out in full force to chant "Go Toros Go." But it was a real surprise to see everyone travel to Pickering to help end this series. The chants were a strong influence as the Toros won the game 3-1. Computer Learning Defeats Dykstra's On Thursday, March 3, the BRHL Peewee team, sponsored by Computer Learning added another win to their record when they defeated the Dykstra's Dykstra's Deli peewees in a close 4-3 match.
