While the Canadian Olympic team was battling it out on the ice, Hooper's Hooper's battled against the strong Uxbridge Uxbridge team. And. like the disappointed disappointed Canadian team, Hooper's fell short of the gold. The teams exchanged two goals apiece in the first period. The point- getters for Hooper's were Clayton Sorensen, Sorensen, assisted by Jason Rerrie, and Andrew Laton with Brian Tamblyn assisting. Uxbridge went ahead in die second and held the lead for a final score of Uxbridge 3, Hooper's 2. On Wednesday, March 2, Hooper's Hooper's met Dykstra's at Darlington arena in another exhibition match-up. Hooper's Hooper's won the first and second period with a goal in each from Mark Gan- hao. Assists went to Antonio Stravato for the first goal, and Steve Laflamme for the second. Dykstra's replied with a goal for a final of Hooper's 2, Dykstra's Dykstra's 1. The following day, Orono was the site of a Hooper's and Cutting Post house league showdown. The first action-packed period remained remained scoreless. Hooper's took the lead in the second on a goal by Steve Bosgraaf, assisted by Antonio Stravato Stravato and Mark Ganhao. Hooper's outstanding outstanding goaltending by Michael Lux- ton and Steve Dao kept Cutting Post off the scoreboard until late in the third period when they tied the score for a 1-1 final.
